Web developers are anticipating Google’s new policies

May 8, 2015 by in category News, Website Design with 0 and 0

As you may already be aware, Google have amended their search engine algorithm to favour websites which are optimised for mobile devices. The search engine giant has recently announced that the number of websites that are mobile friendly has increased by 4.7% over the past two months, as more web designers and developers are anticipating the imminent algorithm change. It’s great to see that a lot of businesses and websites are getting on board with mobile designs, as they provide a variety of benefits.

While 4.7% does not seem like an extremely large amount, it should be taken into consideration that Google more than likely has a large index of pages, probably with many sites that are no longer maintained but are still included in the number. Over the next couple of months, it will be interesting to find out how many other websites become optimised for mobile due to the algorithm change. There has been a lot of press coverage about it and by now, most website owners should know that they need their site to work efficiently on all devices for higher search engine placements.
